Sift Community Content Policy
Sift is a quiz game played by a wide audience, including younger players. Every Community pack is reviewed before it is published. This policy explains what packs, cover images and usernames may and may not contain. It is part of the Sift Community Creator Terms.
1. Make packs that are fair to play
- Accurate. Each question must have exactly one correct answer, and that answer must be correct. Do not present opinions, rumours or disputed claims as facts.
- Clear. Write questions and answers that can be understood without guessing what you meant. Wrong answers should be plausible but clearly wrong.
- In the pack's language. Questions and answers must be written in the language you chose for the pack.
- On topic. The title, description, category and cover image must honestly describe what is in the pack.
2. Content that is not allowed
Packs, cover images and usernames must not contain or link to:
- Illegal content, or content that encourages or explains how to commit crimes.
- Hate or harassment: content that attacks, demeans or threatens people because of who they are, including race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender, sexual orientation or age, and content that bullies or targets a specific person.
- Sexual content, nudity or sexually suggestive material.
- Graphic violence or gore, or content that glorifies violence, terrorism or extremist groups.
- Self-harm: content that encourages suicide, self-harm or eating disorders.
- Dangerous activities, drugs, weapons or gambling presented in a way that encourages them.
- Political or religious advocacy: campaigning for or against a party, candidate, government, religion or belief. Historical and factual questions are welcome when written neutrally.
- Personal information about anyone, including names together with contact details, addresses, phone numbers, account handles or private facts, and questions about private individuals.
- Impersonation: pretending to be another person, creator, brand or Sift.
- Spam and advertising: promotions, links, contact details, calls to visit other apps or sites, or near-duplicate packs.
- Misleading content designed to deceive players, including deliberately wrong "correct" answers.
3. Respect other people's rights
- Only submit questions, text and images you created yourself or have the right to use.
- Do not copy question banks, quizzes, puzzles or images from books, TV shows, games, websites or other apps.
- Short factual statements can be used, but copying someone else's wording or selection of questions at length is not allowed.
- Cover images must not use other people's logos, characters, artwork or photos without permission, and must not show identifiable people without their consent.
4. Cover images and usernames
- Cover images must follow every rule in this policy, must relate to the pack, and must not be mostly text, a screenshot of an advertisement, or a QR code.
- Usernames must not be offensive, impersonate anyone, or contain personal information, links or advertising. Generic or reserved words may be refused.
5. Fair use of Community features
- Do not use more than one account to get around submission limits, rejections, suspensions or other enforcement.
- Do not file false or abusive reports, or try to manipulate play statistics or discovery.
- Do not try to access other creators' drafts or accounts, or interfere with Sift's systems.
6. How we enforce this policy
We review every submission and revision before publication, and we review reports from players. Depending on how serious a problem is, we may return a pack for correction, reject it, disable or remove a published pack, require a username change, suspend an account, or end an account, as described in section 6 of the Creator Terms. Serious or repeated breaches can lead to permanent removal without warning. Where the law requires it, we may report illegal content to the authorities.
7. Reporting a pack
If you see a published pack that breaks this policy or contains a wrong answer, report it from the pack in the app. Choose the closest reason (wrong answer, offensive, spam, copyright, inappropriate or other) and add details where asked. For copyright concerns, or anything you cannot report in the app, contact contact@siftpuzzle.online.
